The insects find significantly more food in the city than in the surrounding areas. Hobby beekeepers keep them in cemeteries, the police headquarters or on the roof of the Gärtnerplatztheater. The result: a very special drop.

It must be an uplifting feeling to have your workplace high above Gärtnerplatz. While young people swarm down below on sunny days to find a cozy place in the roundabout or in one of the street bars, Bärbel Girardin lets their bees swarm on the roof of the Gärtnerplatztheater. She is actually a patent attorney and works on a voluntary basis for the Greens in the district committee of Ramersdorf in the south-east of Munich, but her heart has been attached to her hobby, beekeeping, for almost a decade.
