An Italian gave the Hitler salute several times in Munich on Sunday and is now in custody for that reason. As a place for his right-wing extremist provocation, the man misused the place of the victims of National Socialism.
The crime happened around 4:20 p.m. with several passers-by watching. The 40-year-old gave the Nazi salute, originally used as a “Roman salute” in Italian fascism, and shouted Nazi slogans in German. Witnesses then alerted the police.
According to the police, the Italian national without permanent residence in Germany was caught red-handed and arrested. A complaint was made against him for using license plates of unconstitutional organizations and an arrest warrant was issued for the risk of absconding. The State Security Commissariat 44 is conducting further investigations.
