Many post-Covid patients experience musculoskeletal disorders: they walk unsteadily and tend to fall. The LMU clinic now wants to help those affected and scientists to better understand the phenomenon – with the help of a not entirely unknown technique.

Leandra Bauer doesn’t wobble. She stands firmly on shaky ground; the green dot in front of her on the monitor remains almost motionless in the center of the circle, where it belongs. “No wonder,” says Eduard Kraft. “This is a young, sporty woman who can do it.” But Leandra Bauer is not one of Kraft’s patients either – she is a sports scientist at the LMU Clinic in Großhadern and has stood on the latest achievement of the musculoskeletal center for demonstration purposes: a robot that will help post-Covid patients in the future, but also others target.
