Munich: going swimming is getting more expensive – Munich

Prices rise from January – but at the same time there are more favorable conditions for various groups, such as families, short swimmers, retirees.

Anyone who wants to go swimming in Munich’s baths has to pay more from January onwards. In the future, the entry price for the indoor swimming pools with simple equipment – Forstenrieder Park, Giesing-Harlaching and Müller’sches Volksbad – will be five euros, with a reduced price of 3.50 euros. Admission to pools with special attractions – Cosimawellenbad, Michaelibad, Olympic swimming pool, north pool and south pool – costs six euros, or four euros for a reduced price.

In the Westbad the new price is 15 euros, a reduced price of nine euros. Admission to the Dante winter warm outdoor pool costs nine euros, a reduced price of six euros. The price for the outdoor pools rises to 5.50 euros, reduced to 3.50 euros.

At the same time, Stadtwerke München (SWM) are introducing more favorable conditions for various groups, such as families, short swimmers and retirees. This corresponds to long-term customer requirements. For example, the price for early and late swimmers will be increased: If you stay for a maximum of one and a half hours, a reduced tariff will apply all day Monday to Saturday.

An increase in prices is inevitable, said the municipal utilities, due to significantly increased material, energy and operating costs.
