An 82-year-old woman was seriously injured when she fell on an escalator at the Münchner Freiheit. According to the police, the woman was standing in the middle of the escalator on Tuesday afternoon, which leads from the mezzanine floor of the Münchner Freiheit subway station in Schwabing to the bus station. An 81-year-old standing in front of her with a walker suffered a seizure and fell backwards against her.
As a result, the 82-year-old also lost her balance and fell backwards onto the escalator, police reports. She suffered a femoral neck fracture and had to be taken to a hospital by the ambulance service for inpatient treatment. The 81-year-old was not injured in the fall. Her impact was apparently cushioned by the other woman’s body.
