Munich: Four injured after a fire in a retirement home – Munich

In a room fire in a senior citizens’ home in Milbertshofen, four women were injured on Friday evening. One was brought to the hospital with severe smoke poisoning, three others were also taken away as a precautionary measure with mild smoke poisoning. Nine other residents of the temporarily completely vacated house were looked after and cared for on site in an ambulance.

The smoke in the house on the corner of Schleissheimer and Neustifter Strasse was so strong that the fire alarm went off even in a neighboring building. The emergency services were on site with a correspondingly large contingent; the professional fire brigade alone came in three trains. The fire was extinguished at around 10:20 p.m. During the operation, Schleissheimer Strasse between Milbertshofener Strasse and Frankfurter Ring was closed.

A total of six apartments were so badly damaged by the flames that they are currently not habitable. The fire brigade was unable to provide any further information on the cause of the fire on Saturday. The police have taken over the further investigations into the cause of the fire.
