Munich: Five injured in serious accidents – Bavaria

Four people were injured in an accident involving several vehicles on Autobahn 9 in Upper Bavaria. Including a 41-year-old who had to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the police reported on Saturday. The other three people were slightly injured.

According to current investigations, a 73-year-old is said to have driven into the rear of the 41-year-old’s car near Eching on Friday for an unknown reason. The 73-year-old and the 19-year-old passenger of the seriously injured man were slightly injured. A 20-year-old woman was able to avoid the scene of the accident, but collided with the guard rail and also sustained minor injuries. Additional vehicles are then said to have driven over the rubble of the accident, causing their cars to be damaged. The A9 towards Nuremberg was completely closed for around two hours.

On the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart, also on Friday evening near Langwied, a young man driving a Chevrolet left the road for an unknown reason. According to the police, he brought his vehicle to a halt behind the guardrail, badly damaged, and was able to get out himself. A highway maintenance notice board was badly damaged in the impact. Several passers-by who witnessed the accident provided first aid.
