Munich: Fire brigade rescues man from stuck elevator – Munich

The fire department rescued a 40-year-old from a stuck elevator in Munich. The man was slightly injured when the cab braked abruptly, but did not have to go to hospital.

According to a spokesman for the fire department, the elevator on a company premises in the Munich district of Neuperlach initially fell a short distance for unknown reasons. This triggered the so-called safety gear on the elevator, which prevents it from falling, and the elevator stopped moving.

Using special equipment, the professional and company fire brigade were able to lift the cabin and thus release the safety gear. The elevator could then be brought to one floor and the man could leave the elevator after about two hours.
