Munich: Fire brigade frees toddler from car – Munich

Members of the Munich fire department rescued little Jaydan from his mother’s car on the afternoon of Maundy Thursday. The one and a half year old was accidentally locked in there.

According to the fire department, the boy’s mother just wanted to go shopping. She had already put her son in the child seat of her car. He was holding the car key, a popular toy among small children, in his hands. After buckling the child in, the mother closed the vehicle door. Unfortunately, Jaydan had accidentally locked the car from the inside. Since the mother could no longer open the door without outside help, she called the fire department for help.

While a group accompanied the mother to the nearby apartment to open the door using a door opening tool and get the spare key for the vehicle, the remaining emergency services looked after the trapped Jaydan, who did not seem to perceive the situation as threatening. A few minutes later he was freed and, to his great joy, was even able to admire the emergency vehicle from the inside.
