A fatal S-Bahn accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at Rosenheimer Platz. For an unknown reason, a 65-year-old man lost his balance on the platform around two o’clock and fell backwards onto the track in front of an incoming S-Bahn, the police report. The critically injured 65-year-old was initially stabilized, but died in hospital from the severity of his injuries.
The 52-year-old driver of the S 3 involved received psychological care on site. Rail traffic on the main route was blocked for more than one and a half hours while the accident was being recorded. The police are assuming the accident was not at fault. The Munich traffic police are conducting the investigation.
