A serious traffic accident occurred on Landshuter Allee in Munich on Friday morning. One person was fatally injured, police said. Apparently two trucks were involved in the accident on the busy traffic artery.
According to initial information, one of the trucks is said to be a tanker truck, and both vehicles are said to have caught fire. The emergency call to the police was received shortly after 7.30 a.m., reports their press office.
According to the police, a truck loaded with gravel ran into oncoming traffic for initially unknown reasons and collided with the tanker truck. Both vehicles caught fire.
The driver of the tanker was able to save himself, according to a police spokesman. The person in the other truck died. Landshuter Allee should be closed until the afternoon, especially to the south. The fire brigade can only recover the vehicles after the traces have been recorded. An expert is to clarify the exact course of the accident.
