Munich: fans celebrate FC Bayern on the Nockherberg – Munich

After their tenth championship in a row, FC Bayern let their fans celebrate at the Nockherberg in Munich. A few hours after the Bundesliga mood dampener at VfL Wolfsburg (2: 2), captain Manuel Neuer & Co. presented themselves at a fan festival late on Saturday evening. The players exchanged their shirts for leather trousers.

FC Bayern supporters, fan clubs and legends toasted the next title in the beer garden from the early evening.

Scoffers could almost describe this form of celebration as an escalation. When the FC Bayern team won the championship title three weeks ago, Leopoldstraße – actually Munich’s party mile for football fans – remained empty. There weren’t even any traffic disruptions or a disturbance of the peace.

On the other hand, there were already celebrations on Saturday evening – former FC Bayern star Giovane Elber was there too and drove up in a brewery truck.

Later, the stars around Thomas Müller joined – and of course Robert Lewandowski. The striker has been with FC Bayern since 2014 and no longer wants to extend his contract. So it could well be his last championship celebration with the Munich club.

During the performance on the Nockherberg, the 33-year-old thanked his teammates for their help in winning the Bundesliga top scorer again. “This cannon also belongs to the team, I couldn’t have made it without the assists,” said Lewandowski. Again and again “Lewy, Lewy” chants resounded through the beer garden on Saturday evening.

This Sunday, the German soccer series champion will celebrate again with his fans at Marienplatz after a two-year Corona break. Munich’s mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) receives the champion at 1.30 p.m. for the title celebration in the town hall.
