One can undoubtedly speak of a “match” what the Exhibition “Siloed Beings” by Monira Al Qadiri in Johann König’s gallery in the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk in the Aubing district of Munich. On the one hand, there is the renowned artist who grew up in Kuwait and whose works deal with oil and the oil industry. And on the other is Bergson, which opened a few weeks ago and is backed by two brothers, Christian and Michael Amberger, who run a petroleum company under the name Allguth. Johann König asked Monira Al Qadiri at the opening whether she knew that the Bergson operators were selling “petroleum”. The artist responded with “Really?”, followed by her engaging laugh.
