Munich can look back on an economically successful year 2022. “It’s looking good at the moment,” says economics officer Clemens Baumgärtner (CSU) at the presentation of the latest annual economic report. For the first time, it is not only about the economic performance of Munich as a location, but also about social and ecological issues, about the prosperity and quality of life of the people of Munich. “Both are connected: the prosperity that we have in Munich needs an economic basis,” says Baumgärtner. Without investments, profits and taxes from companies, the city could neither afford cycle paths nor welfare.
