The police seized drugs with a market value of almost 100,000 euros, a sharp pistol and almost 40,000 euros in cash from a 50-year-old man in the Aubing district in western Munich. The unregistered pistol of a make “from the Eastern bloc” and the narcotics were found in a plastic bag on the balcony of the suspect’s apartment, a police spokesman said.
The drugs are almost four kilograms of amphetamines – which include ecstasy and crystal meth – of “quite good quality” and around 500 grams of marijuana, as one of the investigators responsible said. The narcotics were prepackaged in units of 100 grams each in “drug-typical denominations”. Various packaging material, a stun gun, various mobile phones and the cash were found in the apartment itself.
The investigator said that one could speak of an armed drug trade that would not be punishable under five years imprisonment. The police had previously had enough information to obtain a judicial search warrant for the apartment, which was carried out on Wednesday. Whether the 50-year-old, who is said to have worked in the courier and driving service, acted alone or was part of a network has yet to be determined. The man was brought before an investigating judge on Thursday. She ordered pre-trial detention.
