Munich: Deutsches Museum is open again – Munich

The Deutsches Museum is open again from this Tuesday. Technicians managed to replace the charred power rail that is said to have been responsible for the power failure in the exhibition building. “We have power again,” confirmed General Director Wolfgang Heckl on Monday, “the network is working again – and that’s really good news.”

Last week, on Wednesday evening, there was a short circuit in the second basement of the exhibition building, and the fire brigade was alerted because smoke had risen. The consequences were significant, the electricity and the computer network failed over a large area. The museum then announced that it would have to close until further notice, at least a week.

Now things went faster: everything could be repaired as early as Monday afternoon, the museum said. Now you can open again on Tuesday at the usual time at 9 a.m.
