A 47-year-old cyclist suffered serious head injuries in an accident. According to the police, she was out and about in Sendling on Sunday, shortly after midnight, with a blood alcohol level of more than 1.4. She left the road between Zechstrasse and Heißstrasse and crashed into a parked car. Her head hit the rear window so hard that it shattered. Passersby called the police. The woman is in hospital with a traumatic brain injury and facial injuries, but her life is out of danger. Police reiterate their recommendation to wear a bicycle helmet, saying this can prevent injuries or at least lessen their severity.
