Munich: cyclist dies after an accident in Schwabing – Munich

A 76-year-old cyclist died on Thursday a week ago as a result of a traffic accident. She had collided with another cyclist and suffered head injuries, including a brain hemorrhage.

The accident happened on August 9, around 5:45 p.m., at the intersection of Hörwarthstrasse and Mainzer Strasse in Schwabing. The woman was heading towards Kölner Platz when she collided with an oncoming 28-year-old who allegedly overlooked her when turning left.

The traffic police have launched an investigation into the exact course of the accident. She is looking for witnesses, in particular for the driver of an SUV who is said to have stopped at the intersection and given the 28-year-old the right of way.
