Munich: Culture and leisure tips from Luise Kinseher – Munich

What began on a Schwabing cabaret went on as Mama Bavaria tapping strong beer on Munich’s Nockherberg. As the first woman, the cabaret artist Luise Kinseher was allowed to give the sermon on Lent and defeat the politicians present. Even after saying goodbye there, she continues in her prime role as the mother of the country. She is currently touring the country with her current program “Mamma Mia Bavaria” and now has a new show on Bavarian television with “dreizueins”. The production alone was a lot of fun for her.

Monday: Kasperl instead of Krampus

A great alternative for St. Nicholas Day, which is canceled due to the pandemic: Dr. Döblinger’s tasteful puppet theater.

Today is Nicholas! For me as a child a day of horror: A red giant with a cotton beard accompanied by a creepy fellow named Krampus brought tangerines and nagged at me. Then I also had to say “Thank you, Saint Nicholas”. For what? For fear? The abuse? I got the gagging from mandarins! That is why I dedicate this Monday to all of the battered children’s souls. Dear children, you absolutely need the CD: “Don’t call me Häselein anymore” from “Café Unterzucker” and of course all Punch and Judy CDs from “Dr. Döblinger’s tasteful puppet theater”. This will help you make ends meet, until you are adults and even beyond.

Tuesday: Exciting news from Friedrich Ani

01 09 2017 Berlin Prenzlauer Berg Friedrich Ani Author for ao crime novels *** 01 09 2017 Ber

This year Friedrich Ani received the Grimme Prize for the best screenplay in the film “We would be other people”.

I still haven’t read Friedrich Ani’s new detective novel. “Last Honor” focuses on a hitherto rather unknown character in a novel by Friedrich Ani, the Munich Commissioner Fariza Nasri. Many say the character has great potential for a new cult crime thriller. Anyone who is even more interested in Ani can watch the film “We would be other people” with Matthias Brandt in the lead role in the ZDF media library. The film is based on Anis’ story “Rupert”. Together with his wife Ina Jung, he received the Grimme Prize for the script that year. And if you like, you should also read his poems.

Wednesday: Rolled-up delicacies

EU protects Swabian Maultasche

The Maultasche is not only a salty delicacy – it is also particularly tasty in sweet versions, for example as an apple ravine.

When there was no vegetarian cuisine, they said pastries. At home we had pastries almost every day: pancakes, baked rice, rice pudding or apple ravioli. And that’s exactly what I’m doing today: Make potato dough from 1 kg floury potatoes, divide it into ten parts, roll out thinly and cover one after the other with 400 g apple slices, pour sugar and butter flakes over them and shape the dough pieces with the filling into a roll. Place them next to each other in a buttered puree, sprinkle with the butter flakes and 200 g cream and bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees in the oven until golden brown and crispy! A dream! Delicacies rolled in dough are like a loving hug. This is so important, especially in times of distance.

Thursday: New cabaret show

Finally the time has come. Switch on: Tonight at 9 p.m. on Bavarian TV: My new cabaret show “dreizueins” starts! I have Gerburg Jahnke and Constanze Linder as guests. In our cabaret numbers and talks, we deal with the adversities of digitization in a satirical and humorous way. Just us women? No, later an incredibly good-looking, charming, clever and sexy man comes along; in short: someone who suits us. But I won’t reveal who that is, you’ll have to see for yourself! One thing is certain, it will be a really good, funny show with great guests.

Friday: play me the blues

Christoph Well, 2010

On his new album, Stofferl Well brought together musicians like Helge Schneider, Ringsgwandl or “Die Toten Hosen” and let them play the blues.

Probably the oldest indie label in the world, “Trikont”, is my absolute elixir of life. Here I always experience new musical surprises, irritations and inspiration. The latest CD “Open Harp Blues” is absolutely amazing again: The ingenious Stofferl Well has whirled up a whole world power of congenial musicians and let them play the blues. Incredibly good! Helge Schneider will be there, The dead pants, Ringsgwandl, Willy Michl, La Brass Banda, Konstantin Wecker, Zither-Manä and Herbert Pixner. A benefit production for the “Salam Heart Surgery Center” of the Emergency Switzerland Foundation in Sudan. None of those involved earn money with the album, everything is donated. The best Christmas present.

Saturday: film start with obstacles

Theatrical release - 'wheat beer in the blood'

I can still remember the start of the first lockdown. We were just shooting the movie “Weißbier im Blut” in the Bavarian Forest. With Sigi Zimmigart in the lead role, I also play a key role as Gerda Bichler’s waitress. On a day off I ran into a glass door in our crew hotel and broke my nose twice, the next day filming was stopped due to the pandemic, and the toilet paper was out in the supermarket. With my broken nose and a blue and swollen face I drove back to Munich and barricaded myself in my apartment. Everything felt like an emergency stop. But at some point it was summer again, and we were allowed to finish shooting “Weissbier im Blut”, which was shown in cinemas this year. If you missed it and would still like to see it, you can now find it on Prime Video.

Sunday: Slowing down in pictures

Streaming myself through “Alpha-retro” in the BR media library has recently become one of my favorite pastimes. Here you can discover real film treasures. Do you know Franz Ruhm’s farmer’s omelette? Yes, there were already cooking programs in the 1950s. In real time and in black and white, a form of deceleration that television does not otherwise have to offer. And while you’re at it, watch the 1961 film “Old Munich as you don’t know it anymore”. Even then, they said goodbye to the old days, that never stops and relativizes many difficulties in the here and now.

Everyone in Munich has known Luise Kinseher since 2010. On the Nockherberg, the cabaret artist was allowed to derail the politicians for the first time in her role as Bavaria. Since then she has become an integral part of the German cabaret scene. Growing up in Geiselhöring in Lower Bavaria, she studied German language and literature, theater studies and history in Munich and graduated with a master’s thesis on the Bavarian cabaret artist Sigi Zimmigart. Until 1998 she was a member of the ensemble at the Iberl stage in Solln. She was discovered for television by director Franz Xaver Bogner, who cast her as a popular actress in his television series “Café perjury” and “Munich 7”. The Munich resident was honored with numerous prizes, including the Bavarian Cabaret Prize. After her resignation as “Mama Bavaria” she is on tour with her current seventh program “Mamma Mia Bavaria” and will host the new talk show “dreizueins” on Bavarian television once a quarter from Thursday, December 9th.
