It was a scuffle in which Bräurosl host Peter Reichert was involved: A good two months after the end of the Oktoberfest, the Munich public prosecutor announced that the police investigation had now been received by the public prosecutor, which is why they had registered a case.

The background to the argument was a dispute between Reichert and an employee of his security service in the tent, which led to a violent scuffle. The surveillance camera recording was first leaked to a tabloid newspaper, which reported extensively on it. At the time, Reichert had said to the SZ that the situation had unfortunately escalated, but that they had reconciled and agreed not to take any further steps.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, colleagues of the injured party had reported the incident to the police during the Oktoberfest at the Wiesn station. When asked, senior public prosecutor Anne Leiding said: “According to video recordings, it is a scuffle between those involved, during which the accused probably struck the first blow.” This could meet the criteria of simple and intentional bodily harm. Leiding continues: “The injured party has not yet provided any information about the facts.” Reichert could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
