Udo Wachtveitl and Miroslav Nemec are putting an end to the Munich “crime scene”. The announcement fuels speculation. Now the two are talking about how they imagine their life at the end of 2025 and whether they would like to see women as their successors.
Does anyone remember the predecessors of the current Munich “crime scene” investigators? Horst Bollmann (1988/1989), Hans Brenner (1987) and Günther Maria Halmer (1986) had short guest appearances in the TV series, Helmut Fischer (1981 to 1987) and Gustl Bayrhammer (1972 to 1981) had longer ones. Nothing compares to Udo Wachtveitl and Miroslav Nemec, who will have 100 episodes in 35 years if they put their latest announcement into practice. A few days ago, the actor duo and the BR announced that it would finally end after episode 100 (2025/2026) – at the express request of the actors, who were making room for the offspring for reasons of age. Wachtveitl is 65, Nemec 69 years old. Despite the hype surrounding their characters, the two appeared extremely relaxed during the interview on the sidelines of the BR film brunch in the Literaturhaus. As a welcome, they hand out beer bottle caps as a souvenir, chat about stylish men’s shirts, and later they will complain about the “chic” moping of some colleagues. But they also offer answers to burning questions, for example about their cinematic ending and legacy.
