Munich: Construction worker saves woman’s life in the Isar – Munich

A person was rescued from the Isar at the Ludwigsbrücke in the Isarvorstadt district early on Thursday afternoon. Construction workers who were working on a construction site on the bridge noticed the woman in the floods around 1:30 p.m. The men immediately made an emergency call. A large number of fire and rescue services were alerted via the integrated control center.

While they were still on the way to the scene, one of the construction workers didn’t hesitate for long, took off his clothes and also jumped into the water. He managed to grab the 37-year-old and, along with the woman, hold on to a rope that his colleagues had thrown into the water until the rescue workers arrived.

After the large contingent arrived, some firefighters also jumped into the water and secured the woman. Despite his hypothermia, her rescuer was able to get out of the water on his own and immediately warm up in a construction container. The 37-year-old was rescued by emergency services using a ladder, then treated in an ambulance and transported to a Munich clinic.
