Due to the construction work at the Sendlinger Tor underground station, the U3 and U6 lines will be restricted from Saturday, October 30th to probably Thursday, December 9th. From Monday to Friday there are timetable changes from 10.30 p.m. to close of business and from Saturday, 9 p.m. to Monday morning at 5 a.m.
At these times, shuttle trains run every 15 minutes between Odeonsplatz and Goetheplatz. Only the U6 runs between Münchner Freiheit and Odeonsplatz, and only the U3 between Goetheplatz and Implerstrasse. In the northern sections of the route (U3: Moosach to Münchner Freiheit; U6: Garching-Forschungszentrum to Odeonsplatz) there is a train every ten minutes.
On the southern sections, the U3 (Goetheplatz to Fürstenried West) runs every 15 minutes, the U6 (Implerstraße to Klinikum Großhadern) every ten minutes. The MVG asks guests of the Gasteig HP8 cultural center in Sendling to switch to the U1 line to Candidplatz. Before the start of the event and after the end of the event, shuttle buses run between Candidplatz and the Schäftlarnstraße / Gasteig HP8 stop, if required. These buses are used in addition to lines 54 and X30, which also run on this section of the route.
The travel time of the shuttle buses between Candidplatz and Schäftlarnstrasse / Gasteig HP8 is three minutes, according to the MVG. Reinforcement trains are used to and from the Candidplatz. Due to soccer games, construction work on Tuesday, November 2nd, Saturday, November 27th and Wednesday, December 8th, will be suspended until the end of operations at around 1.30 a.m.
There are also restrictions on the U4 and U5 lines due to maintenance work. The U5 between the Theresienwiese and Laimer Platz underground stations will be replaced by buses from Monday, November 1st to Thursday, November 4th, from 10.30 p.m. each time. During the same period, the U4 only runs between Arabellapark and Lehel. The U5 runs as planned between Theresienwiese and Neuperlach Süd. The buses of the rail replacement service have the line number U5. They stop at the underground stations and also at the Alter Messeplatz, Ridlerstraße, Garmischer Straße (only in the direction of Theresienwiese) and Hans-Thonauer-Straße.
