Munich: Companies send 30,000 runners to the start for a good cause – Munich

Get off the office chair, get set, go: 1478 running teams from various companies and businesses lined up on Tuesday for the B2Run, a business sports event that has become a tradition. With 1700 runners, BMW provided the largest individual team this year, followed by Siemens and Allianz. In total, more than 30,000 people sprinted through the Olympic Park – which means that after a good 25,000 participants last year, the event is now back to the level it was before Corona.

And that despite the heat: before the start, the organizers at Instagram appeals to the participants to drink enough. There was also water along the way and non-alcoholic beer at the finish line in the Olympic Stadium. According to the organizer, some business people would have simply walked the five-kilometer route through the park at a leisurely pace.

The first B2Run took place in Munich in 2004. The event soon became a sure-fire success. There are now company championships in 18 cities. The proceeds go to a good cause: This year, the runners support the bone marrow donor organization DKMS.
