They had good reason to hope that they would soon have a landlady who was not interested in profit but was committed to the common good. But this hope has died for the tenants at Westendstrasse 5 and Georgenschwaigstrasse 26. The general assembly of the city council decided on Wednesday evening in a non-public session to withdraw from the pre-emption rights to the two properties that had already been exercised. Now the purchase contracts between private parties will come into force instead of the buildings being transferred to the portfolio of the municipal housing associations GWG and Gewofag.
