Munich: City wants to expand the range of old people’s and service centers – Munich

In old people’s and service centers, seniors not only get the opportunity to socialize, but also advice and practical support. Because this helps them to be able to live at home longer in old age, the city wants to expand the offer.

Christine Fichtl only has to walk around the corner twice from her apartment, in which she has lived for 64 years, “then I’m here”. Where there used to be a “barracks,” as the 89-year-old calls the previous flat building at the crossroads of Gabelsbergerstrasse and Luisenstrasse, directly opposite the Technical University. In 2009, a retirement and service center (ASZ) for the Maxvorstadt was finally able to open in the newly erected residential building there.
