Munich: Circus Krone wants to stop Daniele Ganser’s controversial performance – Munich

Circus Krone backed down and tried to prevent Daniele Ganser, a star of the conspiracy scene, from appearing in the Krone building. According to Ganser, the event planned for this Thursday is sold out. According to a company statement on Tuesday, the Lacey-Krone family, which runs the circus, “wants to state that they expressly do not share Mr. Ganser’s views”.

Ganser, who has a doctorate in history and describes himself as a peace researcher, sees NATO, the USA and the German government as the main culprits for the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. The specialist information center for right-wing extremism in Munich refers to Ganser’s networking in the conspiracy-ideological milieu, for which he is an important keyword. Ganser did not answer questions from the SZ.

His planned appearance has triggered massive criticism, including from the city’s specialist department for democracy. Charlotte Knobloch, President of the Jewish Community, announced that protests against the performance had her “full support”. According to Ganser, he appreciates Sucharit Bhakdi, who is accused of incitement to hatred, and welcomed him as a guest of honor at a lecture in Kiel.

A Krone employee had said about Ganser’s performance in Munich that it was “a completely normal event” and that there were no bans on him from appearing. The Krone statement now emphasizes that the Lacey-Krone family, who is on tour, was not informed about the performance.

The decision was made by an employee who is responsible for renting out the circus building. A legal check is carried out to determine whether the Ganser appearance can be canceled.
