A carpenter was hit by a prefabricated component in Munich on Monday and was fatally injured. The accident happened around 12 p.m. on a construction site on Schwere-Reiter-Strasse, as the Munich fire department announced on Tuesday.
According to the report, the 40-year-old was busy putting up prefabricated components on the first floor of a new building when one of the heavy components fell and buried the man under it. His colleagues immediately rushed to help the casualty and called the fire brigade. This supported the emergency doctor, who was also called, and the ambulance crew in the first aid of the seriously injured.
The carpenter was taken to the shock room of a Munich clinic, but his injuries were so serious that when he arrived at the clinic, only death could be determined. The Munich Commissariat has started investigating the exact course of the accident.
