The carnival in downtown Munich has been cancelled. The city of Munich, the market women, the Narrhalla, the Munich Narrative Association and the Damische Ritter have all agreed on this. The reason for this is the corona situation with the current developments in the omicron wave.
This means that this year there will be neither a dance of the market women on Shrove Tuesday nor a carnival parade of the Damische Ritter. All other events, whether indoors or outdoors, are also cancelled. The dance of the market women is usually the highlight of the Munich street carnival.
