Munich: Cardinal Reinhard Marx not at Corpus Christi procession – broken arm – Munich

Cardinal Reinhard Marx will not be able to celebrate the Corpus Christi service on Marienplatz and the subsequent procession next Thursday. The 69-year-old broke his arm on a business trip and had to have an operation, the archbishop’s office said. In the coming weeks, Marx will therefore only be able to attend appointments to a limited extent.

The Corpus Christi service takes place at 9 a.m. on Marienplatz. He will be presided over by Auxiliary Bishop Rupert Graf zu Stolberg, and the sermon will be given by Christoph Klingan, the Archbishop’s vicar general. The subsequent procession leads from Marienplatz via Residenzstrasse to the Ludwigskirche to the altar of blessing and via Ludwigstrasse and Theatinerstrasse back to Marienplatz.
