A driver crashed into a house wall during an illegal race in Untersendling. According to witnesses, the previously unknown driver left the car against the wall of the house on Friday night and probably fled on foot with his passenger, the police said.

A patrol had previously followed the two vehicles on Passauerstrasse after the drivers had noticed the officers because of their conspicuous driving behavior. When the driver of the BMW noticed the police, he fled at up to 160 kilometers per hour. He ran a red light and broke through the hedge into an apartment building. The car eventually collided with a house wall. The damage to the house is believed to be minimal.

The police found the opponent’s car, a Mercedes, in an underground car park on Passauerstrasse a little later and secured it. The perpetrators were still at large after the incident. It is currently being determined whether the occupants of the two cars were injured. The investigations into the course of the accident and the suspicion of a prohibited motor vehicle race are also ongoing. According to the current state of investigation, the BMW is not registered and insured. The property damage totals several tens of thousands of euros.
