After a water pipe burst, there are road closures and massive traffic obstructions at the Isartor. It has washed mud on the road, sidewalks are apparently partly unusable. It is not yet known how the mishap came about, says a spokesman for the Munich public utility company. Construction work is currently taking place at Isartorplatz.
The tram line 16 will be diverted until further notice, informs the Munich transport companythe cleanup will probably take several hours.
As the picture-Zeitung reports that the sidewalk has sunk by up to half a meter and there is mud everywhere.
