Munich: Boule alley at Gotzinger Platz – Munich

After they had to wait another four years, the Sendlingers will get a boule alley at Gotzinger Platz this spring. The impetus for this came in 2016 from Stefanie Schwarzbach, who played boules/pétanque at an international level for a long time and now coaches the youth national team. More friends of ball sports quickly found themselves in the district, so that the citizens’ assembly supported the wish with a large majority. The city had initially promised in 2019 to create the square before the project was postponed and finally threatened to disappear into the Corona hole.

Another motion from the citizens’ assembly and constant digging from local politicians finally brought the building department’s commitment to laying the track in April on the southern part of the lawn square in front of the St. Corbinian church as an interim solution. The plan of a fundamental transformation of the square with additional greenery and a children’s playground remains on the waiting list for the time being.
