Motorists scold and threaten, police officers are waiting for solvents, and the “last generation” of climate stickers are happy that nobody is going to get physical. The blockade in front of the university is almost routine – and yet reveals a lot about activists and their opponents.
Climate activists are blocking Ludwigstrasse in front of the university towards the city centre. They call for more climate protection. There is a traffic jam, after an hour and a half the road is free again, nothing special. And yet a lot can be gleaned from this supposed routine about the sometimes absurd effect of the adhesive protest and an aggression on the street that has almost become normal.
