Munich: Benefit concert for people who can’t afford tickets. – Munich

They play in hospitals, retirement homes and hospices, in care facilities or prisons. Young musicians, especially students from the Munich University of Music and Theater, give concerts for people who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend. These performances are financed and organized by Live Music Now Munich, which has carried Yehudi Menuhin’s thoughts since 1992: “Music heals, music comforts, music brings joy”.

There will be a benefit concert for the organization on Monday, December 4th, in the Isarphilharmonie. The Munich University Symphony Orchestra (HSO) plays there under the direction of Marcus Bosch. You can hear Gustav Mahler’s 1st Symphony in D major and Piano Concerto No. 1 in E flat major by Franz Liszt. The evening’s soloist is pianist Sophie Pacini, who is not only at home in many important concert halls around the world, but is also committed to new formats for conveying and presenting classical music.
