Munich: Arson on the school construction site in Hasenabergl – Munich

A fire broke out for the third time in just a few days at the new Willy Brandt Comprehensive School in Hasenbergl. On Thursday around eleven o’clock the emergency call was alerted: insulation material was burning on the ground floor.

The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire and the damage was only a few hundred euros. Because there had already been two fires at the construction site last Monday, the police are now investigating intentional arson and are therefore looking for witnesses: Who made any observations on Freudstrasse on Thursday morning that could be related to this incident?

The municipal Willy Brandt comprehensive school, which has existed since 1970, is one of only two remaining comprehensive schools in Bavaria. The old school building, which was built in 1973, was demolished in 2020; Since then, the new building has been built there. It is scheduled to be completed this year.
