In the coming year, around 1.3 million euros will be used to support 41 projects by independent Munich dance and theater artists in Munich. The total is therefore the same as in 2023. 173 applications were received, which were discussed by juries. In the area of children’s and youth theater, the state capital is also supporting seven plays and four scholarships with around 300,000 euros. The culture committee decided this at its meeting on Thursday, as the city announced.
The largest share, around 1.1 million euros, goes to 17 individual project funding in the areas of dance and theater. These include the Freie Bühne München, Lena Gorelik and Gesche Piening in the theater sector and dance productions by, for example, Jasmine Ellis and Anna Konjetzky.
