Another dormitory has to be cleared – 1300 places will then be empty for years in Freimann alone. And it could get even worse: Many student union buildings are in need of renovation, but there is not enough money.
The “Studentenwerk München” has been called “Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern” since the beginning of the year. Alone, the new name does not change the problems in the dormitories. They are getting bigger and more pressing. In the student town in Freimann, the Stusta, a fourth dormitory will soon be empty, house 10 with 62 places. At the end of January, the residents learned that they were to move out within a few weeks. At her request, the deadline was extended to September 1st.
