Munich: Andrea Lissoni remains director at Haus der Kunst – Munich

Andrea Lissoni and the Bavarian Ministry of Art are extending their contract with each other: The popular curator will remain at Haus der Kunst as its artistic director until March 2030. Art Minister Markus Blume announced this in Munich today. In addition, art historian and experienced museum manager Bianca Knall from the North Rhine-Westphalia Art Collection Foundation will be moving to the Bavarian capital as commercial managing director of the exhibition center at the beginning of next year. Andrea Lissoni’s contract extension will take place early.

Blume: “Andrea Lissoni has brought a new lease of life to the Haus der Kunst. Through groundbreaking exhibition formats, exciting collaborations and innovative communication channels, he has shaped the exhibition hall as a pulsating center for the arts. Today, the Haus der Kunst attracts a national and international audience more than ever to our Bavarian art metropolis.” Lissoni feels “very honored by the appreciation for my work and the trust. We can now continue the transformation we have begun at Haus der Kunst for another five years. The most intensive phases of this transformation are still to come. It will certainly be very challenging, but also be exciting.”
