Munich: Almost 240 missions due to storm “Roxana” – Munich

In Obermenzing, a crane falls on a house, a spinning e-scooter damages a car, fallen trees block roads: the police and fire brigade in Munich had to move out in numerous cases because of the storm.

The storm “Roxana” kept the Munich fire brigade and police busy until the early hours of Monday morning. The fire brigade reported 87 missions. Fallen trees blocked lanes and sidewalks. In Obermenzing, a tree fell against a house and had to be secured and removed with a crane. At several construction sites, tarpaulins were torn and scaffolding parts had fallen. Since some cranes were not “wind-free”, the operators had to be contacted to secure them. The high-altitude rescue team had to dismantle a demolished chimney on Schleißheimer Strasse.

The police spoke of almost 150 storm-related operations, mainly because of fallen construction fences. A whirling e-scooter damaged a car, in Mittersendling a “back and forth” dixi toilet had to be caught and in Moosach a “wild” trampoline had to be secured. There were no injuries.
