Munich: Alleged sex offender arrested in the cinema – Munich

Passers-by recognize a man in a cinema in the city center that the police are looking for with mug shots. In exactly the same place, he is said to have sexually harassed underage girls during film screenings.

The police arrested a suspected sex offender in the Mathäser Filmpalast near the main train station. After a public search by the police, the man was recognized by passers-by in the cinema on Bayerstrasse on Tuesday evening and identified by a patrol as the person he was looking for.

The 49-year-old, who lives in the Upper Palatinate, is suspected of sexually harassing three underage girls in the same cinema in March. In one case, he is said to have sat down next to a 13-year-old during a performance, opened his pants and masturbated. The girl then changed places and only informed her parents when she got home.

In the second case, the suspect is said to have started sexual acts in a cinema next to a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old. The girls fled and informed the cinema staff. Those affected are said to have identified him on surveillance videos. The 49-year-old is to be brought before an investigating judge on Wednesday to clarify the issue of detention.
