Munich: All-day warning strike on Tuesday – Munich

The city advises parents to inquire directly with the day-care center management whether care is cancelled. Other city facilities are also affected.

The Verdi trade union has called on public administration employees to go on a major strike this Tuesday. Affected by the warning strike are all administrative areas of the city, the social and educational services, the garbage disposal, several companies of the public utility, including the baths, Munich clinic, municipal savings bank, employment agency and other offices.

Because there can be spontaneous strikes, it is not yet clear which areas will be affected. This also applies to the municipal day-care centers. The city therefore recommends that parents ask their daycare management directly whether the facility is expected to be open normally, whether partial operation is possible or whether the facility will remain completely closed. The parents will automatically be reimbursed for the visit fees and the meal allowance for the missed days.
