Munich: “Aida” in the Olympiahalle – Munich

Giuseppe Verdi composed “Aida” in 1870, for the inauguration of the Suez Canal and based on a scenario by the Egyptologist Auguste Mariette, first director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Now it’s becoming a spectacle in the Olympic Hall in Munich – including a huge, lifelike-looking and moving elephant that also trumpets loudly: Is that convincing?
