After a public manhunt for an attempted homicide, the police managed to arrest the 24-year-old Afghan citizen Aminullah K. He was tracked down on Wednesday in a refugee accommodation in Brussels. The man is suspected of having attacked a 33-year-old caregiver in a housing project in the Munich district of Waldperlach on Friday morning and having seriously injured him with a sharp object.
A crime tool has not yet been found, but a knife is suspected, said a police spokesman. The Munich police had received ten tips from the population, but they had not led to any success. After that, information had accumulated, according to which the wanted person was in another European country.
In cooperation with “Enfast”, a European network of target investigators, the accommodation has been confirmed as a possible place of residence. The 24-year-old was arrested without resistance. The Munich I public prosecutor’s office has applied to the Belgian authorities for extradition.
