This special Advent calendar is eagerly awaited by many SZ readers every year, so that it is always quickly sold out. The Lions Club Munich-Pullach selects art-historically interesting motifs related to the birth of Jesus. The printed calendar, which is sold at a price of six euros, generates annual net proceeds of 33,000 euros. Traditionally, half goes to the “Advent calendar for good works of the Süddeutsche Zeitung“, the other half gets a non-profit social organization. This year it is the Siaf association, which advises and supports single parents.
At the same time, the advent calendar from the Lions Relief Organization, with its printed winning numbers, serves as a ticket for 289 prizes donated by sponsors with a total value of 29,000 euros. The main prize is a one-week hotel stay at the Hotel Post in Lech/Arlberg worth EUR 4,600. Other prizes include tablets, hotel and restaurant vouchers, Isar raft trips, annual tickets for the zoo and shopping vouchers. The winners can collect their prizes from January 9th at Dr. Gisela Lange, Kaufingerstraße 12, Munich, from Monday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. by January 31 upon presentation of the completed and undamaged address card on the back of the calendar. When the deadline expires, the prizes will be forfeited in favor of the donation purpose.
