Munich: 85-year-old driver has an accident in the Richard Strauss Tunnel – Munich

An 85-year-old driver crashed his car into the road barrier in the Richard Strauss Tunnel on Sunday evening and overturned on the driver’s side. As the fire department reports, they were called to the scene of the accident with the report “Traffic accident – person trapped.”

When she arrived, following drivers had already turned the car back onto its wheels and freed the accident victim. The man was seriously injured. The 85-year-old was given first aid at the scene by the emergency services and then transported to the shock room of a Munich clinic.

The emergency services then cleaned the road of vehicle parts and leaking operating fluids. The tunnel was closed for rescue and clean-up work. There were traffic disruptions on the middle ring.
