Munich: 500 meters of cycle path on Elisenstrasse for almost 14 million euros – Munich

The Elisenstraße in Munich already has a cycle path, but now a new, better one is to be found – for a lot of money. The Greens think it’s a good investment, the CSU thinks it’s utter nonsense.

The Elisenstraße in the city center will receive a new cycle path. The approximately 500 meter long route between Lenbachplatz and Dachauer Straße, which mostly runs along the old botanical garden, should even be suitable for the cycle expressway planned in the distant future in the direction of Fürstenfeldbruck. The costs are estimated at up to 13.8 million euros. The city’s mobility committee decided on the new building on Wednesday against the votes of the CSU/Free Voters and FDP/Bavarian Party parliamentary groups.
