A 21-year-old man raped a woman three years his senior in a shared accommodation in Westend on Thursday evening around 8 p.m. The crime occurred after an argument in the man’s room, the police reported on Monday. Accordingly, the man initially physically attacked the 24-year-old and choked her until she lost consciousness before he assaulted her.
The woman managed to make an emergency telephone call to a resident, who then informed the house’s security service. He came to the woman’s aid and alerted the police. Officers arrested the 21-year-old without resistance; an investigating judge ordered pre-trial detention. The 24-year-old was treated in hospital for her injuries.
The perpetrator and the victim have each applied for asylum. Otherwise, they would have only maintained friendly contact and had no prior relationship, as the Commissioner 15 responsible for sexual offenses reported in this case.
