Munich: 15,000 fans have to wait in front of the Grünwalder Stadium – Munich

15,000 football fans had to wait in front of the Grünwald stadium on Saturday afternoon. The reason for this was a malfunction in the security technology, as the Munich fire department announced on X (formerly Twitter).. The police and fire brigade confirmed that the Giesinger Stadium’s loudspeaker system had failed.

Four fire brigade vehicles with loudspeaker systems on the roof finally made the necessary announcements so that admission could begin at 2 p.m. However, the fans had to wait in the sun outside the stadium for 90 minutes.

Nevertheless, things remained largely quiet. According to their own information, the police called in additional emergency services and closed Candidstrasse in the direction out of town; drivers had to be patient. The fire brigade and police were relieved that the game could be averted and the mood among those waiting remained largely relaxed.

TSV 1860 Munich was scheduled to play against Viktoria Köln in front of a sold-out crowd on Saturday. Due to the disruption, kick-off was postponed by an hour from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
