Pizza – everyone knows it, everyone loves it. It is the epitome of Italian cuisine and is one of the most popular dishes worldwide. The first pizza, topped with tomato sauce and prepared as we know it today, probably originated in Naples around 1520. However, the dish has become so popular that the art of Neapolitan pizza-making has been officially recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Pizza World Champion

What is her favorite way to eat? To go, to take away, straight from the hand. Every second, 951 pizzas are eaten worldwide – that’s 30 billion pieces a year, mainly thanks to the enormously high consumption of pizza in the USA. While the Italians contribute five kilograms of pizza per capita to the total every year, each American alone eats up 13 kilograms per year. The traditional Italian variant with a wafer-thin base, baked in a stone oven and spread with garlic oil and the finest tomato sauce has very little in common with today’s American-modern, thick-based variant with a cheese crust and minced meat topping. It doesn’t matter, because both versions show how versatile pizza can be – after all, each tastes incredibly good in its own way.

Blitz pizza: fluffy dough in just a few minutes

Our mug pizza is also versatile. However, it also does not claim to be able to hold a candle to Italian pizza, but it is perfect for spontaneous pizza cravings and scores with a wonderfully fluffy dough. There is no need to let the pizza dough rise for hours and laboriously to roll it out, the kitchen stays clean and cravings are satisfied in just a few minutes.
